From an early age, Cassidy showed an interest in singing and dancing. Although she took some dance, piano and singing lessons while in grade school, she was still a bit shy about singing in front of people, so performing wasn’t in the cards at this time. Over the years, Cassidy and her family attended many shows in Philadelphia and she grew more interested in theatre. Soon she became more comfortable singing around family and friends. In 6th grade, Cassidy participated in a theater camp in her school district which led to her first role on stage, Brigitta in Appoquinimink High School’s production of The Sound of Music.

After her first experience on stage, Cassidy knew she wanted to keep performing. The Griffin Theatre has given Cassidy opportunities to become more comfortable with herself on and off stage. Since earning the role of JoJo in Newsies she has continued to come out of her shell and has done many other shows with the Griffin Theatre. She worked incredibly hard and developed a passion and tireless dedication to becoming a better performer. At the Griffin Theatre’s first annual Griffey Awards ceremony she won an award for Most Improved Actor, and it has encouraged her to focus on improving her talents. Cassidy cherishes the many friendships she has created and the caring nature of the directors. She feels like the Griffin Theatre is her home away from home.

Cassidy will begin high school next year where she intends on completing the theatre pathway. She looks forward to one day performing on Broadway, and with the continued support and experience the Griffin Theatre provides her, she is well on the way to realizing her dreams!
